So, the question is, how do we filter relevant, truthful, accurate, legal and respectful information in the media?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Media and Information Literacy \u00e2\u20ac\u0153concerns the ability to interpret, understand and express creativity through digital media, as critical thinkers.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00e2\u20ac A digital citizen, needs to be equipped with the ability to participate in the online community in a meaningful, effective, legal, respectful and safe way.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is why at Rochester School, we have integrated the Student Standards (<span>ISTE)\u00c2\u00a0<\/span> in the curriculum. We wish to prepare and empower our students to face the challenges of a highly paced information world, across all areas and grade levels.\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the most important resources out there for us to become more empowered digital citizens, are organizations who strive to fact check information and stop the viralizing of fake news.
