Their final project was a card to commemorate International Peace Day by weaving vertical and horizontal lines creating patterns of colors and rhythms as a mindfulness practice.<\/p>\n<p>Students learned how weaving is present in different cultures and objects that we use daily such as the school sweater, baskets, bags or braids and they discovered the relation between weaving and patterns by overlapping vertical and horizontal lines.<\/p>\n<p>They recalled the movements going under the mountain and over the snail-like\u00a0<b><i>Larry the Line<\/i><\/b>, a poem they read. They created their own paper looms by tracing first vertical lines and then cutting along those lines; and received instructions about how to start weaving with the paper strips following the same movements passing over and under the loom lines. They were constantly checking their work to confirm that little squares were appearing as the result of the correct weaving.<\/p>\n<p>__________________________________________________________________________________________________________<\/p>\n<p><i>Los estudiantes de jard\u00edn trabajaron con l\u00edneas horizontales, verticales, diagonales y en zigzag, creando l\u00edneas con su cuerpo, dibujando l\u00edneas en papeles de gran formato y recortando tiras de papel para afianzar su motricidad fina. Su proyecto final fue una tarjeta para conmemorar el D\u00eda Internacional de la Paz tejiendo l\u00edneas verticales y horizontales creando patrones de colores y ritmos como una pr\u00e1ctica de atenci\u00f3n plena.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Los estudiantes aprendieron c\u00f3mo el tejido est\u00e1 presente en diferentes culturas y objetos que usamos a diario como mi saco del colegio, canastas, bolsos o trenzas y descubrieron la relaci\u00f3n entre el tejido y los patrones mediante la superposici\u00f3n de l\u00edneas verticales y horizontales.<\/i><\/p>\n<p><i>Recordaron los movimientos pasando por debajo de la monta\u00f1a y sobre el caracol como\u00a0<\/i><b><i>Larry the Line<\/i><\/b><i>, un poema que leyeron. Crearon sus propios telares de papel trazando primero l\u00edneas verticales y luego cortando a lo largo de esas l\u00edneas; y recibieron instrucciones sobre c\u00f3mo empezar a tejer con las tiras de papel siguiendo los mismos movimientos pasando por encima y por debajo de las l\u00edneas del telar.
