We are completing our 4th week of PK, in our first year at Rochester School. In these past weeks we have been implementing routines, class agreements, and understanding that we are part of a community and that our actions have an impact in others.<\/p>\n

Students have learned about the Level Constitution, and are getting acquainted with each of the animals and the behavior associated to them, for example, they now know that the dog reminds them to treat others as they want to be treated (golden rule) and to be kind and respectful; the owl reminds them of the importance of listening to others using all of their senses (silence); the meerkat reminds them of the proper posture in class in order to take care of their body; finally the giraffe reminds them of the importance of following instructions.<\/p>\n

Through the level constitution PK students are developing social skills, keeping in mind that they are part of a system and a community. We have also been enjoying the new games at the playground, creating new experiences, and applying rules to ensure our own safety. Through play, PK students are developing new relationships and building friendship bonds; they are making new friends!<\/p>\n

We are very excited to see the advances our students have made and to witness how they are feeling safe, happy, and successful at Rochester School.<\/p>\n

Estamos culminando nuestra cuarta semana en Prejard\u00edn en este primer a\u00f1o escolar en el Colegio Rochester. En estas \u00faltimas semanas hemos venido implementando rutinas, acuerdos de clase, y comprendiendo que somos parte de una comunidad y que nuestras acciones tienen un impacto en los dem\u00e1s.<\/em><\/p>\n

Los estudiantes de Prejard\u00edn han aprendido sobre la constituci\u00f3n de nivel, y est\u00e1n conociendo cada uno de los animales y los comportamientos asociados con cada uno de ellos, por ejemplo, ahora saben que el perro les recuerda que deben tratar a los dem\u00e1s como quieren ser tratados (regla de oro), y a ser amables y respetuosos; el b\u00faho les recuerda la importancia de escuchar a los dem\u00e1s usando todos sus sentidos (silencio); la Suricata les recuerda cu\u00e1l es la postura adecuada en clase para cuidar de su cuerpo; finalmente, la jirafa les recuerda la importancia de seguir instrucciones.<\/em><\/p>\n

A trav\u00e9s de la constituci\u00f3n de nivel de Preescolar, los estudiantes est\u00e1n desarrollando habilidades sociales teniendo en cuenta que son parte de un sistema y de una comunidad. Tambi\u00e9n estamos disfrutando de nuevas atracciones en el parque, creando nuevas experiencias y aplicando las reglas para la seguridad de todos. A trav\u00e9s del juego los estudiantes de Prejard\u00edn est\u00e1n desarrollando nuevas relaciones y construyendo lazos de amistad; est\u00e1n haciendo amigos!<\/em><\/p>\n

Estamos muy emocionados de ver los avances que han logrado nuestros estudiantes, y de presenciar que ya se sienten seguros, felices y exitosos en el Colegio Rochester.<\/p>\n
