The library subject that promotes \u201cthe joy of reading\u201d has become one of our students’ favorite classes over time. We share some routines and moments from this class:<\/p>\n

The students enter the children’s library, a space that is always decorated with objects and characters connected to the day’s reading. The class begins with a greeting song, then a magic box is opened to present the characters of the story, sometimes these characters become big or small, an action that is exciting for children. Later, Miss Margarita takes her magic wand, and with the book in her hands, she sings a song whose lyrics were specially designed to open the books.<\/p>\n

Everyone sings, and instantly what everyone expected occurs: the book opens and the story begins. Everyone is very attentive and connected, and on some occasions the students even create intertexts relating other readings or experiences from their own environment and daily lives. Movement games are played to mirror some action of the story; students engage in role plays representing an important situation of the characters; and questions are asked aimed at strengthening the reading comprehension skill. The last moment of the class is individual reading, where students have the opportunity to choose and read their book through the illustrations or text.<\/p>\n

Coming toward the end of the class, students choose a story, line up at the circulation and loan center to register it, and then take it home, where they will share and enjoy a reading as a family.<\/p>\n

La asignatura de biblioteca a trav\u00e9s de la cual se promueve \u201cLa alegr\u00eda de leer\u201d se ha convertido a lo largo del tiempo en una de las clases favoritas de nuestros estudiantes. Compartimos algunas rutinas y momentos de esta clase:\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Los estudiantes entran a la sala infantil, un espacio que siempre est\u00e1 ambientado con objetos y personajes alusivos a la lectura del d\u00eda. La clase inicia con una canci\u00f3n de saludo, luego se abre una cajita m\u00e1gica para presentar a los protagonistas de la historia, algunas veces estos personajes se vuelven grandes o peque\u00f1os, acci\u00f3n que para los ni\u00f1os es emocionante.\u00a0 Posteriormente, Miss Margarita toma su varita m\u00e1gica, y con el libro en sus manos canta una canci\u00f3n cuya letra fue pensada especialmente para abrir los libros. Todos cantan y al instante lo que todos esperaban; se abre el libro e inicia la lectura del cuento, todos se muestran muy atentos y conectados e incluso en algunas ocasiones los estudiantes crean inter textos relacionando otras lecturas o experiencias de su propio entorno y vida cotidiana, se realizan juegos de movimiento para simular alguna acci\u00f3n de la historia, los estudiantes se involucran en juegos de roles representando una situaci\u00f3n importante de los personajes, se formulan preguntas orientadas a fortalecer la habilidad de la comprensi\u00f3n lectora.\u00a0 El \u00faltimo momento de la clase es la lectura individual, donde los estudiantes tienen la oportunidad de elegir y leer su cuento a trav\u00e9s de las ilustraciones o texto.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Para finalizar la clase, los estudiantes eligen un cuento, hacen la fila en el centro de circulaci\u00f3n y pr\u00e9stamo para registrarlo y luego llevarlo a casa donde compartir\u00e1n y disfrutar\u00e1n de una lectura en familia.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
